MK: I have some shocking news for you:  60% of us are on course to outlive our money – and - the rest need to make sure they don’t!

Hello, I’m Mike Kozlak and joining me is Alex Huff.  We’re part of a team that is leading a new company called Me&MyMoney.

I’ve worked for more than 30 years in financial services - and I can tell you the solutions provided by institutions and the financial websites are NOT working for the backbone of America.
 
Five years ago, I set out to change that and to put all of us where we belong, back in control of our financial future!
 
Me&MyMoney is an innovative approach designed to enable you to live the life you want and have money left over.

MK: Immediately you see how Me&MyMoney is different.  We are not the same old budgeting and accounting tool.  We focus on the future of your money.  Our approach is about quick steps and insights that take you to that future.

MK: By setting up account you’ll create your own secure microsite through which you’ll access your personal information and connect to your community.  Building a community of support is an important part of our approach.

First, It asks me for “My Money”
it tells me this is what I own versus what i owe
I’d guess I’m about $6k in the hole.

MK:  Initially, we focus on direction not precision.  By engaging with the site, you will learn how to be more precise later.

AH:
Now it’s asking for “My Money FLOW” or how much I save.
I’d guess that I probably squirrel away about $100 bucks a month.

AH:  According to this, I’m actually WORSE off then my peers.

MK:  Immediately, you are learning by working with your own money.

Now you’re encouraged to try some Sims; these are actions you can take to can change the future of your money.  Some make a big difference and some don’t. The beauty is you can experiment and try a number of these.

The first sim I see is “Rate of Return”

AH:
What if I could get 7 instead of 5% on my retirement account? 
That should make a big difference. Right?

MK:  The return on investments is one of many assumptions. Over time, you will learn about all of these and make them your own.
 
AH:
Here’s one
Get a Part-time Job
A friend of mine just offered me a job slinging beers at the Minnesota Wild games for the season.
$2,000 bucks and I’ll see Burns and Havlat when the Sharks are in town.

MK: When you save a Sim it becomes part of your Strategy –
It is what you say you want to do!
 
AH:
Here’s another one
my buddy Nick shared the “Cut Down on Coffee” Sim. 
I can EASILY cut out at least 5 cups a week.

Cool - now it looks like MyMoney actually takes me to the end of my life.

 MK: It is amazing how seemingly small actions can have such a significant impact.  But life actions are often more complicated.

My wife and I have been talking about whether she should go back to work or stay home with the kids.
What if she could get a job paying $25k a year.

Wow, that makes a HUGE IMPACT long-term (pause)
But not so much short-term.
That’s interesting.
I’ll save it so I can show her.
